The Bio~ [07 Jan 2008|07:59pm]
Samuel (mostly known as 'Sam' or, 'Sammy' from those he's close to) Jacob Hardison was born on the wonderful day of October the 15th, 1989 to a very happy, and very relieved, Elaine and Michael Hardison. The two of them were quite glad to finally be able to start their family. They'd met back in high school and fell in love.. To Elaine, there was always that one person that you knew you were meant to be with. Sure, their start was rocky - spitting words of absolute hatred back and forth when they had been in Primary school but once getting older they realized that they missed each other when one was sick, or they looked out for them 'just in case' on every ocassion possible. When little Sammy was born the two of them moved out of their London flat and headed out to Essex to start their picture perfect family, all topped off with a dog.

However, it seems that all fairy-tales must come to an end. Not everything is perfect and the Hardison family learned that out the hard way. When Sam turned four, his mother was diagnosed with Cancer. After that had happened the family had gone from all smiles and happiness to faces of depression, all save for little Sammy. The boy had no idea what was going on so when his mother started to lose his hair, he would always ask her why and he would make wigs out of paper and even once the kid had cut the dog's hair for her and said, 'Mum, I hope this helps!' earning nothing but a wide, teary, smile from Elaine and a horrid haircut for their poor dog. The chemo was probably the hardest thing for the family.. Watching his mother come home from the doctor's looking even more sick than she had before she'd left had always confused him and when Elaine had to leave the house to be hospitalized he'd spent many day's sitting in uncomfortable hospital chairs with coloring books, making pictures for his mother's wall.

For two years, the woman had fought cancer. Two years she'd succeeded in keeping her health to the best of her ability until right after Sam's sixth Birthday. His mother, unfortunately, hadn't been able to make it through Christmas. After Elaine's passing things in the Hardison home went from bad to worse. Michael refused to leave the house, refused to work, refused to cook or clean and little Sammy, who still didn't really understand the extremity of it all got up every day and attempted to wake his father to take him to school. He still made it, believe it or not, still went every day and managed to make good marks. His grandparents began to see the collapse of the Hardison home and decided to step in to take their son and grandson under their wing.

Three years had passed with the two Hardisons still living with Michael's parents until the man finally decided to put his foot down. He was tired of listening to his parents go on about how his life had to change, how he had to move on, how he should try to get back out there.. Years had passed and he was showing no signs of improving. They would sit him down and tell him how they thought Elaine would've wanted him to be happy.. How he had a son to worry about and with that last talk, he packed his things and his son up and moved to downtown Essex. The first couple of weeks was all right until the man started to hit the bottle and he not only hit the bottle, but he hit the bottle hard. In Michael's eyes the only woman for him had been Sam's mother and he felt like he could never get out of the rut he'd fallen into once she'd passed. Now that Sam was older he was beginning to understand his father's pain and he knew that drinking wasn't the answer and urged the man to stop.

His request only fell on deaf ears and he was forced to come home from school day after day to find his father piss drunk on the couch screaming at the television. On Michael's angry tangents he'd even gone so far as to hit Sam occasionally, when the boy begged him to put the bottle down. For three years his father had gone on a downward spiral. The blackouts were more frequent and on various occasions the bills didn't get paid and they were without utilities. Sam's life, for lack of a better term, sucked. There were times where the boy would stay with his grandparents for long intervals only to come back to a passed out father who hadn't changed in the least since he'd last seen him.

When Sam was fourteen, a week before his fifteenth birthday, he came home one night after school to find his father passed out on the kitchen floor, covered in his own sick in a pool of Jack Daniels. After a few failed attempts at getting his father up, he called the hospital. Later on that night he found out that his father had passed from alcohol poisoning. Without any home to go to, the boy stayed with his grandparents until after the funeral when his mother's brother, Mark, told him that he would be coming back to the United States with he and his wife Natalie. Coping with the loss of his father was difficult but, with a stable family life and a new home, he felt that things could only get better..

And oh how right had he been. Sure, the States were a bit difficult to get used to, considering when he would go into a McDonald's asking for a burger and chips in his 'funny accent' he was all but laughed at , or when he'd go into lunch and sit at the table in the cafeteria and ask his friends for a couple of their crisps, he'd just get an odd glance and a chuckle. It wasn't until he'd met Lilah that his life finally slid into place. The two of them had lived next door to each other for a few months before he finally decided to wander over and say hello one day when she'd been outside with her bike. The two clicked instantly and have been friends ever since.

Since he moved to Longport his life has changed for the better. He left his horrible past behind him and started a future with some of the best people he'd ever met before in his life. He graduated high school, moved into an apartment with his best friends and now? Well, now he's waiting to see what the future holds for him.

And for those of you who don't enjoy reading somewhat length things like that bio up there? Here's the quick facts section.

- Born on October 15, 1989.
- 19 years old.
- Despite his trying childhood, he's grown to be quite the decent kid. He's always up for a laugh and tends to do anything he can to cheer other people up.
- However, he's usually got a hard time expressing his feelings toward people. He's always been one of those people who absolutely hates to be hated.
- Even though some may say that he's 'too old' for it, he still trick-or-treats every year and dresses accordingly.
- His favorite movie is, and has been, 'Young Frankenstein' for as long as he can remember. Then, he met Meir who just so happens to be a Mel Brooks freak and has since fallen in love with 'Men in Tights' and 'Blazing Saddles' on top of that.
- In November, he was diagnosed with Acute Leukemia and has since been going to chemotherapy to treat it. His doctors have assured him that he's making amazing progress and believe that he'll make it through it. Without his friends, however, he would've given up ages ago.
- Having moved from England only three years ago, he does still have his accent and believes it works wonders with the ladies.. Or, so he'd like to think.
- On top of Mel Brooks films he enjoys Indie movies (even the badly acted ones), comedies, and horror. Especially horror. Only downside to that is he's got an over-active imagination and tends to scare WAY too easy.. He insists that after seeing 'The Grudge' the little boy was following him around.
- Currently he's employed at a local Grocery Store doubling as stock and cashier. It gets the bills paid and that's all he's really concerned with. He's been working there since he was sixteen and doesn't plan on leaving any time soon. The pay is more than half-way decent.
- He drives a red Ford Explorer that his Aunt and Uncle gifted him once he finally moved out of the house. Before that, he'd been driving a '94 Tempo which he doesn't miss at all.
- His favorite Holiday is Halloween, which is why he still dresses up as I so kindly mentioned before.
- Sometimes you might find him playing the guitar, or bass, both of which he enjoys very much and would do for anyone if asked. His singing voice? It's half-way decent but, nothing brag-worthy.
- Where he wouldn't before, now-a-days, he'll openly admit to loving movies like 'Love Actually', 'Music and Lyrics' and 'The Holiday'. Yes, Chick Flicks are okay in his book and even though he won't admit it, Lifetime actually makes him cry.
- In his spare time you can probably find him hanging out with any of his room mates, or playing his X-Box 360, getting his ass handed to him on Call of Duty LIVE.
